You can't grow a transit service by making it more expensive to use every year.
Instead, we can cut fares, make our transit system more efficient, and reduce traffic by boosting ridership and better serving our urban, suburban, and rural communities. We'll halt the selloff of over 170 hybrid buses and instead use them to reverse cuts to our community bus lines. We'll introduce a 12-seat bus, with limited service, in the suburbs. We'll also introduce a regional rail system to serve suburban and rural communities.
Our plan for affordable transit includes extending the student u-pass to part-time students and allowing students to continue to use their u-pass throughout the summer months, regardless of if they are registered for a course during that semester.
